- Frontier
Mission - General Project Support (863001) - You can
support the frontier mission program of the PCUSA through
this fund. This is "undesignated" within the frontier
mission category and goes to support under-funded projects
as well as new opportunities that develop after the funding
cycle has begun. By giving "undesignated" to frontier
mission you strengthen out our ability to respond to new requests
both internationally and among immigrant groups in the United
States.
- Frontier
Mission Personnel Support - (040082) - Funds
received will go for support of PC(USA) mission personnel
whose work is considered to be frontier mission work.
There are many needs for such personnel, and the Frontier
Mission Program is helping to raise support for them.
- Cutting Edge International Evangelism Programs (040081) - Exciting
work is being done in reaching out to un-reached people
groups in innovative, creative ways. Most of this is work
that cannot be publicized openly for security reasons,
as it would endanger the lives of new believers or of mission
workers. But the PC(USA) is giving our members and congregations
the opportunity to contribute to these efforts by contributing
through this ECO account.

- Networks
for Evangelism (040044) - Worldwide Ministries
is seeking to develop networks of congregations in support
of the mission of the PC(USA) in the world. Gifts to this
ECO will help that effort, especially for networks that focus
on unreached people groups. Funds will help start networks,
which will then continue on their own.
- Bible
Translation for Unreached People Groups (863014) -
Join a new effort to provide translations of the Bible for
people who do not have a viable church presence in their culture.
Your gifts can bring God's word to people who have never had
it in their own language at an annual cost of $4,000 - $6,000.
- New
International Projects (040046) - Windows of opportunity
open regularly during the year to reach out in the name of
Christ among international unreached people. In recent years
money has gone to the Philippines, Nigeria, South Asia, West
Africa and Latin America.

Ethiopia
- Afar
(040060) - TThe 1.1 million Afar people of northeast Ethiopia are 99.2% Muslim. PC(USA)'s partner church in Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), has been asked by Afar government officials to assist in the provision of a number of services: veterinary, literacy, water, along with grinding mills, tree nurseries and hostels. The PC(USA) has partnered with the EECMY to undertake these opportunities in a careful and sensitive way as part of a holistic ministry. Already some Afar have responded to the Gospel.

- Arssi Oromos (040086) - Our partner church in Ethiopia is reaching out to 8 million Arssi Oromo people who are folk Muslims. They are sending teams of teacher/evangelists to villages that want schools, to help with education and to plant churches. Funds will help build schools in villages.

- Awash-Gibe Area Evangelism (040069) - The new vision of the The Mekane Yesus Church is to send 40 full-time evangelists into the Awash-Gibe area of Ethiopia, an area in central Ethiopia previously skipped over by missionaries. Over 7 different people groups live within this region. The Mekane Yesus leaders from neighboring areas are coordinating their strategy and their resources. Their goal is to start new, indigenous churches, using a variety of holistic strategies appropriate for each people group. Your contribution helps to train and send 40 Ethiopian cross-cultural missionaries of The Mekane Yesus Church.

- Eastern Oromos (040087) - Evangelists in the Western Wollega Bethel Synod need training on how to reach out to Muslim-background peoples with the gospel. Funding would pay for transportaton and accommodations for a trainer to meet with local evangelists in several places to help them gain the skills they need.
- Outreach Illubabour Bethel Synod (040019) - A Dawro woman named Astar heard a rumor 7 years ago about a person named Jesus. Through this woman, the Lord began a spontaneous people movement that has overcome some of the oppressive local structures imprisoning community members. Christians are growing in number and in maturity. Your gift funds Bible translation, literacy work, and further evangelism efforts among the Conta / Dawro and Kaffa-Menja peoples.

- Outreach in Southwest Bethel Synod (040074) - The South West Bethel Synod of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekene Yesus continues its evangelism effort to reach out to these three unreached people groups, the Manja,Sheko and Meenit. Most of them practice the traditional religion and live in the forests around the southwestern part of Ethiopia. There are only a few communities of believers. Funds are needed to support the evangelists, their traveling expenses and leadership training for new church leaders.

- Shekicho
(040041) - The Shekicho people of Ethiopia had only
about 500 believers in 1991. Now, due to the faithful work
of our PC(USA) partner church, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church
Mekane Yesus, there are 20,000. Your gifts will provide funds
for the Shekicho Bible translation along with other avenues
of outreach.
- Surma,
Deze (040017) - The Surma tribe, thanks to the Ethiopian
mission team led by John and Gwen Haspels, now has an initial

Ghana
- Northern
Outreach Program (040016) - The Presbyterian Church
of Ghana started the Northern Outreach Programme in 1989 as
an outreach to the many non-evangelized people from northern
Ghana who had migrated to the South. Today, over 3,000 of
these former Northerners worship in 34 full-fledged congregations
and 11 preaching points. Most are new converts from traditional
religions and come from a number of different ethnic groups.
Worship and teaching is done in the language of the particular
group. In addition to evangelism and church planting, other
programs are in place to meet physical and social needs such
as job training and health education.
Sudan
- Murle
Old Testament (040022) - The New Testament has been
completed but the entire Old Testament remains to be translated.
An office and computers have already been provided, but funding
is needed for the ongoing salaries and training of indigenous
translators. Another translator will complete his training
in June 2001 and will join the ongoing work. Many of the Murle
have fled from Southern Sudan to refugee camps in Kenya, and
one of these refugee camps is the current location of the
translation effort.

D.O.N.E. / Churches in West Africa (040073)
Discipling Our Nations Effectively Inc. (DONE) is working to plant several hub churches in centrally located towns or villages of West Africa in the countries such as Senegal, Guinea Bissau and Ivory Coast. Its purpose is to equip its members with discipleship, pastoral and evangelism training in order that they can reach out to the surrounding unevangelized communities, mainly Muslims, with the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ. among the Zoque people in the state of Chiapas in Mexico,

remaining villages of Zoque people in such a way that enables
the Zoque people to preserve their culture and worship Christ.

- Bosnians
(040051) - One of the very few blessings which came
out of the highly destructive wars in Bosnia earlier in this
decade was the emergence of new Christian witnesses across
this devastated and now divided country. At the height of
fighting in 1992-1995, the Evangelical Theological Seminary
in Osijek, Croatia started a humanitarian aid program called
Agape. Some of the Agape students are now full-time missionaries
living in Bosnia and starting new churches in response to
the Bosnians request to know more about the love of Christ
which saved some of them from destruction. A new Bible school
has even opened in Mostar, Bosnia, where ETS graduates are
teaching.
- Iranians
(040038) - Iranians may be today's most responsive

- Kyrgyz
(040030) - Our work is associated with a well-established
and highly-regarded non-governmental organization (NGO) involved

work in partnership with the Baptist Church to reach out to
the Unreached Peoples of Siberia.

- Tajiks
(040057) - Since 1991 the Tajiks have suffered terribly
from civil war. Over 70,000 have died, leaving 600,000 as
homeless refugees. The country is near chaos and as always
the children suffer the most. The PC(USA) is working with
an NGO to help rebuild this nation in the name of Christ.
- Turkmen
(040058) - We continue to try to reach out to Turkmen
people in holistic ways with the good news of Jesus. The Turkmen
government makes this difficult but we persevere.

like to see Bengalis come to faith in Christ and establish
a Bengali fellowship.

regarded NGOs to provide holistic ministry. This includes

in Chicago for an average of three to five years.
